Privacy
StickTempo has no accounts, no sign-in and no server of its own. Your practice progress never leaves your device. Two third parties do run on this site — Google Analytics and Google AdSense — and this page says exactly what each of them does.

Your practice progress
Everything the app remembers about your practice — which exercises and lessons you
have completed, which stage you reached, the tempo you last used, your settings, and
a log of completed runs — is stored in your browser's local storage under the key
sticktempo.v1. It is never transmitted anywhere. There is no copy of it
on any server, because there is no server: the site is static files on a CDN.
The practical consequences are worth being clear about. Progress is per browser and per device, so practising on a phone and a laptop gives you two separate records. Clearing your browser data erases it, and nobody can restore it for you. If you want a copy, Settings has an export that writes a backup file you keep yourself.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand which pages are used and where people get stuck. It records the page you are on, the section and book page of an exercise, and interactions such as starting a practice run, completing one, or searching the FAQ. It also derives your approximate location (country and city, from your IP address, which Google does not store), your device type, operating system and browser, and how you arrived at the site.
It does not record who you are. There is no user ID, no email address, no name, and no attempt to identify you across other sites. The practice data described above is never sent to Google.
Advertising
No ads are being displayed on this site yet. The application to Google AdSense is under review, which means Google's advertising script is already loading on these pages and Google's consent tool is already asking you about it — so everything described below applies to you today, even though you will not see an advertisement anywhere.
The advertising that will appear here is served by Google AdSense, whose script is already running on these pages. Google and its partners use cookies and similar storage to serve ads, to limit how often you see the same ad, and — where you have consented — to personalise ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies is described in Google's advertising policy, and the vendors involved are listed in Google's ad technology providers list.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google at Google Ads Settings, and out of personalisation by many other vendors at aboutads.info or Your Online Choices. Declining does not remove ads; it makes them non-personalised.
Ads are never placed inside or immediately beside the practice controls, and they are hidden entirely while a practice run is playing. That is partly Google's policy and partly because an ad next to a Start button is a bad experience and an accidental click waiting to happen.
Consent
Before any of the above loads, all advertising and analytics storage is set to denied. Nothing that stores or reads a cookie runs until you choose.
In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland the choice is presented through a Google-certified consent interface, which also carries its own control for changing your mind later.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, it is treated as a standing refusal and honoured without asking you.
Analytics and advertising only run on sticktempo.com. On a local copy, a
fork, a preview build or any mirror of this site, no tag loads and no request is made.
What is never collected
- Your name, email address, or any account identifier — there are no accounts
- Your practice document, run history, or tempos, beyond the coarse interaction events named above
- Audio from your microphone. The metronome generates sound; it does not listen
- Payment information — nothing on this site is for sale
The contact form
The contact form is the only place on this site that asks you to type anything about yourself, and it is entirely optional — nothing else here needs a name or an email address.
Because the site is static and has no server of its own, the form posts to Web3Forms, a third party whose only job is to turn a form submission into an email. What you type — the topic, your name, your email address and your message — passes through them and is delivered to the site's owner.
Web3Forms does not store submissions. They forward the message and keep no copy of it; their server logs, which may contain technical data such as an IP address, are deleted periodically. Processing happens on servers in the United States. Their handling is described in Web3Forms' privacy policy.
What you send is used to answer you and nothing else. It is not added to a mailing list, not used for advertising, and not passed to anyone. Ask, through the form itself, and the message and any reply will be deleted.
Children
This site is aimed at people learning a musical instrument and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Erasing everything
Settings has a full reset that clears your practice document. To remove everything including consent and analytics cookies, clear this site's data in your browser: in Chrome, that is the icon to the left of the address bar, then Cookies and site data.
Changes and contact
If what this page describes changes, the date at the top changes with it. Questions about privacy go through the contact form.
